At National Weekend this year we are planning something different with the club members in mind. We are offering club members a hefty advance booking discount, being £6 per adult, under 16 free for 3 days or part thereof. Admission otherwise will be on Sunday only at a cost of £10 per adult, under 16 free. The plan is to give a membership benefit with Friday and Saturday free with only accommodation and food to pay for. We propose Friday. Meet and greet with a fish and chip supper followed by a drive in movie-style film. The screening will be fabricated by ourselves, but the showing will be free. Saturday. There will be a golf competition in the morning for anybody wishing to take part. If you are interested please contact Steve Napper direct at s.napper@virgin.net Alternatively there will be the West Sussex Anniversary Drive in which we hope to incorporate an optional lap of Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit. There will be a small charge for those wanting to take up this offer of approx. £2 per car, this is for payment to the track marshals who will give up their lunch break for us. This is available to the first 100 cars to book places. We are also hoping to go to the Amberley Working Museum, a really interesting place where one of the James Bond films was made. This again is optional as there might be an admission and lunch fee; we are in negotiation with Amberley at the moment. You can of course avoid these two payment options if you wish. Saturday evening entertainment will be in the form of a live band which again is free, plus we have a professional caterer who will be cooking a barbeque, the menu is : Cajun chicken fillet Aberdeen Angus Beef Burgers Assorted farmhouse sausages Veggie option- Bean Burgers / Mushroom Burgers / Bramley Apple Quorn Sausages Chunky Coleslaw Green Salad Bread and Rolls Mustard, Pickles and Relish Summer Berries with individual meringues and cream Profiteroles with chocolate fudge sauce. The above is at a cost of £15 per adult and a limited menu for children of two meat options at £10 per head. This again is at cost price to ourselves as a member benefit. We asked for approx. numbers in a couple of editions of the club magazine and via the forum , to which we had 80+ replies. These people will have priority for the food to which we will hold until May 1st. The caterer can cope with 250 meals which seemed adequate in response to our inquiry. We will try to offer an alternative if higher numbers are in demand. Sunday will be the main day as usual and we will offer a full day's entertainment with details to follow in future editions of the club magazine.
