The Samurai Challenge
12 April – 5 May 2017
Following on from last year's Trans Am rally and shorter events such as the Three Castles rally, Phil Garratt and Kieron Brown have now shipped their Stag to Japan in order to take part in the The Samurai Challenge, the first competitive UK-organised rally ever to visit Japan.
The rally will run over 23 days in Spring 2017 – cherry blossom season – when crews will compete on a series of regularity sections along a spectacular route of 3,272km (2,033miles) from Fukuoka in the south to Lake Toya in the north. The organisation has also secured some wonderful race tracks for tests along the route. As well as driving some of Japan’s most exciting roads, participants will enjoy some of the country’s greatest natural, man-made and cultural treasures, from primeval landscapes and brooding volcanoes to the brilliant, neon-lit metropolis of Toyko and the island home of the internationally renowned Kodo Drummers.
Below are some pictures of them preparing and packing the car for the rally.
