Coronavirus Covid 19 Guidance

Coronavirus Guidance

The Stag Owners Club is committed to protecting our members and volunteers and in these uncertain times we have to be sure that we are taking all necessary precautions.

Due to a large proportion of our members being of an age within the highest risk category, the National Committee have been looking very closely at national gatherings etc. and will continue to do so going forward.

The Club encourages all members to follow the latest Government advice which promotes great attention being paid to personal hygiene and employing protection measures such as frequent hand washing, not touching surfaces and keeping at least 1-2 metres away from other people, no hand or face contact, etc.

We strongly urge volunteers and organisers involved with local group events to refer to the guidelines and protocols as suggested by the World Health Organisation and government to contain and mitigate against any further spread of the virus. You know that the situation is changing rapidly and please be assured that we are monitoring advice very closely and will follow up with our Co-ordinators/Officers as and when the situation and advice changes.

As advised by government, we would also encourage those in the “at risk” categories and especially those experiencing coronavirus symptoms, however mild, such as a continuous cough or high temperature, within the seven days prior to an event, not to attend

Currently, the Government recommendation is that public gatherings and events do not need to be cancelled. This is a fluid situation and is likely to change. As and when the advice changes we will inform Co-ordinators of any policy changes that the National Committee decide upon.

SOCTFL AGM and Co-ordinators Meeting at Gaydon Sunday 5th April.

Because of attendance from all over the country and the meeting is held in a Museum open to the public, reluctantly the National Committee along with SOCTFL have decided that the SOCTFL AGM arranged for Sunday 5th April will be postponed. Similarly, the Co-ordinators meeting in the afternoon will also not take place. If you have any urgent issue that you would like an answer to in the meantime, you can raise it directly with SOCTFL via OR and/or the Chairman of the National

Local N&Ns and Events.

Since the National Committee’s advice earlier today, the Government have this afternoon ( 16th March) announced that we should  be avoiding social contact whether in small or large groups and avoid unnecessary travel. We believe we have no choice but to suggest the suspension of monthly meetings and probably other events in the calendar at least in  the short term.

We’ll continue to monitor the situation and will advise as we go forward.
Keep safe everyone.
