About Us

Welcome to the South Wales Area webpage. We are centred around South East Wales with monthly meetings at the Crows Nest Pub, Cwmbran, Np44 8HU during the winter. In the summer we have easy access to the driving roads and stunning scenery of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains, also seaside venues such as beaches in the Vale of Glamorgan, Barry and Ogmore by Sea. We regularly drive these routes on summer evenings, and we venture further afield to Rhossili in  the Gower, Pembrokeshire and beyond for day trips and overnighters.

The routes are choosen  by a different run organiser every month and they can select from one of our pre planned routes (see webpage “Scenic drives in South Wales”) or come up with a new route with pub destination.

Our other activity involves attending car shows and other retro events, such as Gloucester Goes Retro and Coleford Festival of Transport. Some of the shows we attend are Abergavenny Steam Fair, Vale of Glamorgan Sully Show, Motors at Mamhilad, and the Hoggs Head. These shows all raise money for charity and we are pleased to be associated with them. (See page “South Wales Programme of Events 2021)

Who does what?

Colin chairs meeting, arranges the programme in consultation and writes our page in the monthly magazine.

Gary deputises for the Coordinator and advises as necessary.

Bob is in charge of equipment, charity collections and donations. He also helps members locate Stag parts which are in short supply or expensive if bought new.

Debbie looks after our IT issues as well as the Whats App group.

Terry organises our attendance at shows.

We currently have approximately 55 members who receive regular emails from the Coordinator and we count them as part of the South Wales Area by virtue of their location. Members come from Bridgend in the West stretching east to the Severn Bridge, however we do have one or two members beyond this area. A feature of Club Membership is of course Stag  members can attend any Area meeting and we welcome everyone.

Area Communications

We have several methods of communication within our Area.

  1. Stag Owners Club website
  2. Our “Programme of Events”
  3. E mails from the Coordinator (contact Colin to be included)
  4. What’s App group which currently has 34 contributors (contact Debbie to be included)
  5. Club Magazine which is published monthly
  6.  We have meetings on the first Tuesday of the month  at the Crows Nest, Cwmbran in the winter. (IN the summer we are out and about in our cars.

For new members please join us for some great days out, friendly banter, and plenty of advice on technical matters relating to your Stag.
