Club History

Whilst the car was on sale new from British Leyland dealerships there was relatively little demand for a club dedicated to the Triumph Stag but shortly after it was withdrawn from sale independent Stag specialist Tony Hart, (of Hart Racing Services), attended the 1978 Alexandra Palace Classic Car Show to advertise their services to Stag owners.  Questionnaires were handed out at the show to gauge the interest in forming a club dedicated to the Triumph Stag. The response was such that Tony, supported by keen Stag owner Ken Hudson, formed a club with the first meeting of those interested in running the club being held at Tony’s house in Pinner, North West London. The Stag Owners Club came into being on 6th November, 1979 and has since grown and gone from strength to strength.
