The Oxford Stag Team consist of a good range and mix of people.  There are a number of original members who have been part of the club since it was formed in 2017 together with newer members who have joined more recently including our Area co-ordinator Richard who has now been in the role for about one year, taking over the role over from Gary.  Gary himself took over the role from long standing coordinator Peter Howells last year.

You will also see that we have a Richard Green for both Coordinator and Deputy, which must be unique

This group brings a mix of ages, mechanical abilities and usership of our Stags.  We have people who have completed ‘nut and bolt’ refurbs in their garages, budding mechanics who are trying to learn and others just wanting to enjoy the car and leave the ‘dirty work’ to the experts. The things we all share in common, of course is a love for the great British Grand Tourer and the mix of personalities in members shines through in the Stags we own.  To get a flavour of this please take a look at the Owners cars section where you’ll see a data sheet for most of the cars in our ‘Oxfordshire family’

We have recently changed how we do the meetings and while the time is always on the last Thursday of every month for 2025 we have mixed up the locations so we now cover all  compass points of the area. Traditional, and for many years, we had met at The Chequers in Weston-on-the Green and given that this pub was no longer open we were faced into a change of location, and unanimously it was agreed to move the meets around the region. The confirmed locations are:

Location 1: The Ben Johnson Pub – Western-the Green, OX25 3RA

Location 2: The Red Lion – Chalgrove, OX44 7SS

Location 3: The Packhorse – Milton Hill, OX13 7SS

Location 4: Study’s Castle – Kidlington, OX5 3EP

The locations alternate each month which means most members have a close locations every few months at the most. Attendance is often strong and there is also one of two stages in attendance whatever the weather. Being a diverse group we are always welcome to new visitors, and we are active in planning bespoke events, attending more formal local events and also trips abroad throughout the year, so please come and join us if you’re in the area, everyone is welcome.

We have an active WhatsApp group offering advice and support and this website will evolve to keep people informed of our activity.
