SOCTFL Introduction

SOCTFL?  What’s that?

This article is intended to highlight the work of SOCTFL and to inform club members of its existence, especially those new to the club. Future articles will aim to keep members up to date with ongoing and suggested new projects.

So what is SOCTFL? SOCTFL stands for the Stag Owners Club Tooling Fund  Limited.  As its name suggest it is a company limited by guarantee owned by all the members of the Stag Owners Club.

Established in the early 1990’s the aim of the company was, and still is,to encourage manufacturers to produce high quality parts that had become no longer available or were of poor quality You will no doubt have seen the advertisement in the magazine that clearly demonstrates the success of the fund’s activities to date. 

SOCTFL does not manufacture parts but rather works closely with manufactures by providing technical and financial support so that they are able to develop the tooling necessary to manufacture the parts to original specifications. As you can imagine the cost of tooling where low volumes are concerned can be prohibitive.  Once parts have been manufactured they become available from our normal suppliers. Supporting manufacturers in this way helps to ensure that parts are available at affordable and often discounted prices.  Clearly a major benefit to club members that helps to keep more Stags on the road and away from the scrap yards.

SOCTFL is run by a committee made up of club members and representatives of manufacturers and parts suppliers who work together to bring a project from the drawing board to the market.  They meet regularly giving their time and expertise freely. Often travelling miles to attend meetings. Their support and expertise is invaluable to the success of SOCTFL and we thank them for their contribution to the company and the club.

Included in this article are some photographs of parts currently available and future article will focus on ongoing projects.
