International Stag V8 Project demonstrates cool benefits

After a complete mechanical strip down and rebuild (engine, gearbox, overdrive, diff) of [what would become] the project vehicle, I took my wife on a 6000km road trip to the Black Forest, Switzerland, southern Spain and back. The vehicle was fitted with a single Davies Craig Electric Water Pump (EWP80), installed during the restoration, together with a Supergill radiator and a Comex 15.2 inch push fan from Revotec. The Stag V8 and EWP performed impeccably, but there was a worry bead that kept me awake at night, particularly under high heat loads at high altitudes and ambient temperatures. What would happen if the EWP failed 2000km from home? Of course, I knew exactly what that would mean with the almost certain outcome of warped heads and a long ride back on a recovery truck! With a background in physics and aviation, not to say a life-long passion for motor engineering, my mind turned to the possibility of on-the-road redundancy – the Stag V8 Twin EWP Project was born.
