Triumph Stag Mk 2 For Sale

Pimento Red in colour, with black roof and interior. I have a Heritage Certificate for it and it was originally white, then Magenta and then red and I think it suits her.

She still has her original 3.0 litre V8 engine and Borg Warner automatic gearbox (reconditioned).

She comes with her original hardtop as well as a reconditioned soft top.

Registration number is OSF 141P and the current mileage is showing at just over 78,000. However, the previous owner advised that its much lower and only shows as this due to a speed change. The Mot history backs this up.

I’ve owned her for just over 3 years and have only done approximately 1,500 miles in that time. I took her to the Darling Buds of May Car show this and last year and she received plenty of admiration.

I’ve just had her serviced and MoT’d, despite her being Tax and MoT exempt. I had a new outrigger fitted for the MoT and am advised that she needs a new drivers side floor pan fairly soon, but looks pretty solid otherwise.

She’s had replacement front wings before I bought her, so all good there. She could do with some work to the rear arches at some point, but there’s no rust showing and they’re presentable at present.

I’ve had her serviced professionally, by a local specialist throughout my ownership. I have also had the automatic gearbox fully stripped down and reconditioned, in addition to the differential and carburetors.

I fitted a modern, electronic, fuel pump.

She had new front brakes a year or so ago and has just had new rear brake pipes and a brake service.

She’s got an electric fan and I haven’t had any overheating issues.

Her tyres are good and the wheels are in excellent condition.

I fitted a modern cd player and speaker (in the original front mounting) but have the original radio.

The front seats are a little tired and could do with new foam, although I find them quite comfy!

Overall, she’s a presentable, useable classic that would benefit from a bit of TLC as time goes on. She’s always been garaged and well looked after, in my ownership, with no expense spared and summer use only. I’ve recently moved house and have less time to use her, so I thought I’d see if there’s any interest here. If not then I’ll have the floor done and use her again next year.

1975 manual/OD in British Racing Green with hard top

Well-presented car in BRG (originally white) with black interior and good condition hard top.  Comes with substantial history since 1991 and has always been garaged by current and previous owners.

Many parts replaced in the last couple of years including new seat foams, carpets, new switches, sun-visors, mirrors, new springs and dampers all round, all cooler hoses and Stagweber header tank.

Benefits from 15” Challenger alloys, electronic ignition, strengthened diff cradle, SS exhaust and walnut dash. Chrome is all good condition and agreed valuation for insurance is £13,500

Sadly, I just don’t have the time to drive it – in fact has done less than 1000 miles in the last three years so really needs a home where it will be used. The car is mechanically very sound, sounds fantastic (described by the last owner as the best sounding Stag in the country! The car has never let me down and starts first time.

Bodywork is good but not perfect, there is some rust starting to come through on the rear wheel arch lips, but everywhere else appears to be good, the underside is solid. The paint could do with a buff and some TLC but is very presentable.

Will consider offers around £10,000
